A heart attack involves the blood supply to the heart being cut off abruptly causing it to cease functioning. Some common signs of heart attack are chest pain, sweating, nausea, fatigue and breathing difficulties. If you think that someone is experiencing a heart attack in front of you, here are 3 steps to take that may save their life.
The first step is to always call 911 straight away. A heart attack is a very serious matter and can lead to death. So, calling for medical help should always be the first priority if you feel like someone is experiencing a heart attack. They will probably be able to offer some advice and guidance on what you should do.
While waiting for medical help to arrive, you need to do something in your power to keep the patient alive. Give them an aspirin and ask them to chew and swallow it. Aspirin prevents blood from clotting and reduces the damage done to the heart. It can also relieve their chest pain temporarily.
